We concluded the conference at the Ministry of Development and Technology, where the latest report, "Policy Choices for the Circular Economy in Europe," prepared by the World Bank, AGH University, and INNOWO, was presented.
Arno Behrens and Andrea Liveranii from the World Bank discussed the details and conclusions of the report. The President of INNOWO Institute, Agnieszka Sznyk, Przemysław Sobański (MRIT), and Piotr Wołejko (Polish Entrepreneurs Federation) commented on the report's results in the context of implementing the Circular Economy in Poland.
Next, together with guest experts, we discussed the major challenges in the circular transformation of the Polish economy, including:
Lack of intersectoral/ministerial coordination and countering the "silo" approach,
Pending legislative changes - ROP and the deposit system for packaging,
Insufficient circular economy education at the university level,
Green public procurement and the need to change criteria.
Przemysław Sobański (Director of the Department of Innovation and Industrial Policy, MRIT) invited experts to join and actively participate in the Working Group on Circular Economy in the National Smart Specialization (Krajowej Inteligentnej Specjalizacji – Gospodarka o Obiegu Zamkniętym).
We thank all the speakers and guests for their important contributions to the discussion and active participation, as well as the MRIT for their hospitality.
