The REPowerEU Project – Green Energy Transition for Local Governments is an initiative designed to support local government units (LGUs) in developing competencies related to the energy transition.
The project is funded under Investment G1.1.4: Support for Institutions Implementing Reforms and Investments under REPowerEU, part of Poland’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO).
The conferences organized within the project address key aspects of the transition, such as:
-
Technological challenges of the green energy transition, including innovative technological solutions, optimizing energy use in municipal systems, self-consumption, and energy storage solutions.
-
Legal and administrative aspects of the green transition for local governments, including current and optimal legal frameworks, administrative processes, and applicable national and EU-level regulations on green and energy transformation.
-
Social and environmental dimensions of the energy transition, such as collaboration with local communities, local energy security, the impact of biogas plants on communities, and the siting of wind farms.
By participating in the project, local governments will gain practical tools and knowledge to effectively plan and implement green transition policies, contributing to improved quality of life for local communities and enhanced environmental protection.
