EDUCATIONAL PROJECT

CIRCULAR EDUCATION PROJECT FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS, HIGH SCHOOLS AND TECHNICAL SCHOOLS IN THE MAZOVIAN VOIVODESHIP
developed by the Institute of Innovation and Responsible Development – INNOWO
About project
"Rethinking the Planet. In a circular world, waste doesn’t exist" - is a comprehensive educational project aimed at strengthening ecological awareness among students and teachers in the Mazovian region. The project encourages young people to take everyday action in line with the principles of the circular economy (CE), where nothing is wasted and no product pollutes the environment. The program helps participants understand the paradoxical reality in which tons of resources - such as food, water, and textiles - are wasted, while at the same time many parts of the world suffer from their scarcity.
As part of the project, the following were conducted:
– 10 pilot lessons in primary and secondary schools in the Mazovian Voivodeship,
– 6 online training sessions for teachers,
– 4 training sessions for school management staff,
with a total of over 1,100 participants.
During these sessions, key issues were addressed, including changes in production processes, product and service design, and the hierarchy of circular actions: "Refuse, Reduce, Repair, Reuse"—its assumptions and the real-world impact of circular practices. Thanks to experts who shared proven good practices, the trainings became a great source of inspiration for teachers and a strong incentive to introduce circular economy principles into daily school activities.
The project was held under the honorary patronage of the Mazovian Board of Education in Warsaw, and the educational materials were developed with the support of the Mazovian Center for Teacher Development. All activities took place between May and November 2022.
Recordings of the training sessions and educational materials are available below for download.
