Conference: "New Bioeconomy Strategy for Europe: A Systemic Approach to Bio-Waste Management in Poland"

Organized in cooperation with Refood Polska, the conference is dedicated to key changes in bio-waste management in Poland, with a special focus on food waste from the HoReCa sector.

The event will take place on May 27, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the headquarters of the Polish Press Agency, located at 6/8 Bracka Street, Warsaw.

During the conference, potential directions for change and recommendations for improving the efficiency of the bio-waste management system will be discussed. Bio-waste management is a crucial element of the country’s contemporary environmental policy and one of the most important environmental challenges. The current system requires modernization, and the regulations concerning the collection and classification of bio-waste need to be refined.

Bio-waste holds great potential both in terms of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and generating secondary raw materials such as biogas and organic fertilizers. Proper processing of bio-waste is key to achieving required recycling levels and minimizing landfill disposal, in accordance with the EU waste hierarchy.
